Position Description
This position monitors and maintains scheduling of batch and online processing for information systems providing operation services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for 24x7 monitoring of Batch Processing
· Analyze batch failures and perform Job Restarts
· Follow up on issues and escalate as appropriate
· Initiate corrective action for production issues through utilization of online documentation
· Ensure online availability hours are met by proactive monitoring during the batch window
· Interface with Application Support and OPS Support teams to coordinate and implement approved and tested Application Releases
· Assist in system activities (i.e.: IPLs, MVS maintenance, hardware & software upgrades) with Mainframe Operation
· Reports to Scheduler Shift Lead.
· Job requires basic subject matter knowledge; works under the guidance of other team members with close supervision; work checked often and at critical points; follows schedules and executes activities as outlined by the Shift Lead.
Required Skills:
Technical and applied understanding of batch scheduling functions and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
· Individual must have a general understanding of data processing concepts and terminology.
· Individual must have a good understanding of and ability to navigate within a Windows or Unix Workstation environment.
Location: Premise/Remote
Hours: In support of a 24x7 production environment, the employee is expected to work on various assigned shifts.
