The Lincoln Public Schools technology department is seeking a Technology Support Specialist II to join our team. The Technology Support Specialist II will be directly responsible for the support, maintenance, repair, and management of technology devices and systems used by our educators and learners. The Technology Support Specialist II will provide a responsive, professional support experience to faculty, administrators, staff, and students, while working collaboratively with other members of the technology team. This is a full-year position.
Specific Duties:
- Provide end-user technology support for faculty, administrators, staff, and students.
- Deploy, manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair technology hardware and software, including, but not limited to laptop and desktop computers, iPad tablets, Chromebooks, audio/visual systems, printers, peripherals, operating systems (primarily MacOS, iOS, and Windows), productivity software, curriculum and educational software, and other tools.
- Maintain and manage hardware and software inventories.
- Provide training in the use of technology systems to end-users.
- Accurately track, prioritize, and respond to customer problems and requests in a ticketing system.
- Manage the inventory and ordering for consumable supplies such as printer toner and projector lamps.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance with vendors when necessary.
- Assist the Director of Educational Operations in Technology in planning new technology purchases.
- Contribute to the district's library of technology reference and procedural documentation.
- Use systems administration tools including, but not limited to, Mobile Device Management (MDM), deployment and imaging tools, network discovery utilities, Apple GSX, etc.
- Assist the Network Manager and Director of Educational Operations and Technology with maintenance and troubleshooting tasks related to the network and telephone systems.
- Collaborate with building Instructional Technology Specialists to support faculty and students with learning objectives.
- Follow security procedures and maintain records as needed to perform all duties.
- Participate in required training.
- Duties require employee to to occasionally climb ladders, push/pull equipment, and lift up to 50lbs.
- Occasionally attend meetings at other schools and other offsite locations.
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Director of Educational Operations and Technology.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience providing end-user technology support, preferably in an education environment.
- Experience with MacOS and iOS required.
- Experience with Google Apps for Education, Mosyle MDM, Microsoft Intune, Windows, and/or educational software desirable.
- Ability to systematically analyze, troubleshoot, and solve problems.
- Working understanding of networking and TCP/IP basics.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills and the ability to triage and prioritize.
- Strong understanding and commitment to security, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Ability to manage projects independently.
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues and vendors.
- Apple Certified Technician certification or willingness to obtain required.
