Jaycon is seeking a highly skilled Consumer Electronics Technical Documentation Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in documenting our cutting-edge consumer electronics products and processes. We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our team and create technical documentation for consumer electronics and the processes involved. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in technical writing and be able to write clear, concise, and accurate documents. The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating user manuals, product specifications, installation guides, and other related documents. The successful candidate should also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Attend client meetings and actively participate in discussions to gather technical information and requirements related to consumer electronics product development.
- Take meticulous notes during client meetings, ensuring the capture of key points, action items, and design specifications.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product designers, engineers, and marketing professionals, to collect essential insights for technical documentation.
- Develop comprehensive documentation that aligns with client guidelines, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Create user manuals, assembly instructions, product specifications, and other technical documents that are clear, concise, and user-friendly.
- Organize and manage documentation projects, establishing schedules, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion.
- Review and edit documentation for accuracy, clarity, and consistency, adhering to company and client branding standards.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and developers to validate technical information, ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of the documentation.
- Set and assign tasks to team members involved in the documentation process, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and techniques in technical documentation and consumer electronics industry practices.
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, Technical Writing) or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in technical documentation, specifically in the consumer electronics industry, showcasing your ability to translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to explain intricate product features and functions in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and product lifecycle management systems.
- Familiarity with industry-standard documentation formats, styles, and guidelines specific to consumer electronics (e.g., user-centric design, graphical instructions).
- Knowledge of consumer electronics manufacturing processes, including product assembly, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, build relationships, and facilitate information gathering.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and project demands.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) are advantageous.
- Willingness to attend client meetings, actively engage in discussions, and represent the company professionally.
Working Environment
Little physical activity in an office environment. Requires mostly sitting on a chair operating on a computer. Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks.

- Ability to source the correct component/part/service on time with the best price.
- Ability to communicate with both MFG overseas and Jaycon team efficiently.
- Timeliness of delivery.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
