Job Title: Technical Writer (AR/VR)

Pay Rate: $67.45 - $69.80 per hour.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for organizing, controlling, and writing technical documentation to support the client’s business unit(s).
Responsibilities
- Write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices or operating and maintenance instructions for a technical audience
- Organize material and complete writing assignments according to the client’s set writing standards and styles regarding order, clarity, conciseness, and terminology
- Maintain records, files of work and revisions
- Confer with end user to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication
- Work in alignment with the client’s change management processes and tools
- Collaborate cross functionally to help with the development and/or improvement of documentation organization plan(s), editing and reviewing processes, and tracking deliverable status through assessment, development, and release phases
- Occasionally work 40+ hours in a week to meet certain team milestones
- Perform other duties as needed
Education and Credential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, English, Technical Communications, Journalism or related field
- Eligible to work in the US without RLA sponsorship for employment visa status
Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in a Technical Writer role
- 2+ years of experience using C++, Unity, Universal Windows Platform (UWP), Windows SDKs, GIT, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps (or any combination thereof)
- 2+ years of experience in creating end user, developer, or IT pro documentation
- 4+ years of experience working in a software development environment, that is writing in and/or incorporating code into technical content
- Experience working with VR/AR Development
- Experience using various document version control platforms such as GitHub
- Experience using various markup languages such as Markdown
- Experience creating documentation for a technical audience
- Experience using various content management systems e.g., SharePoint, eDOCS, Bluebeam, etc.
- Experience reading some programming languages e.g., C#, .NET, ASP.NET, Python, etc. to understand and incorporate developer content in technical documentation
Skills Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
- High proficiency using productivity software such as M365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams and SharePoint)
- Ability to use project/program management principles and methodologies to consistently meet task deadlines, triage changing priorities, and track issues to resolution
- Ability to collaborate across diverse teams with a customer service mindset
