Job Summary

This position will support operations for Advanced Chemical Transport (ACT) related to corporate on-site environmental services. The TSR role is a hybrid of 4 positions, TSS, OSR, Field Chemist and Account Manager. The position includes oral and written communication with client representatives, data entry, reviewing and entering work orders, generating, and recording shipping documents, Internet research, desktop publishing, scheduling, and annual reporting.

Accountabilities

  • Receive and prepare sales orders given by sales representatives or Clients
  • Enter client orders and customer requests via our internal operation system
  • Act as primary contact for accounts as assigned.
  • Taking incoming calls and providing pricing for waste pick ups
  • Prepare and manage waste profiles within EnviroWare software
  • Assist operations department with preparation of packets
  • Handle special projects on demand given by supervisor
  • Establish a teaming relationship with each assigned AM
  • Provide quality communication and service to current accounts
  • Communicate with Account Managers, Operations, and clients regarding: order status, service requirements and any issues pertinent to all
  • Preps/Prints work orders (job packets) from sales based on ship dates and pre-arranged template orders that have been scheduled with dispatch which includes prepping orders at least 2-3 days prior to service when templates are assigned
  • Receives incoming documentation from the field
  • Checks incoming documents, hazardous or not, for correctness, works with sale and field personnel when discrepancies are found so they can be corrected
  • Profile waste, pricing and final disposal facility management
  • Ship waste according to DOT requirements
  • Understand and manage chemicals base on physical and chemical properties for proper disposal
  • Responsible for proper paper packaging of hazardous waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance
  • Assign proper waste codes to all materials that are designated for disposal
  • Assist in characterizing materials for clients
  • Responsible for preparing Chain of Custody (C.O.C) and labels for samples to be sent to the lab for analysis.
    1. Transfer samples into the appropriate containers specific to the analysis being ran.
    2. Schedule appointments with the lab to have the samples picked up for analysis.
    3. Cross reference the samples that are being taken by the courier against the C.O.C.
    4. Review analytical reports once they are returned from the lab and determine how the waste should be shipped.
    5. Inform the project’s account manager on how the analyzed waste stream should be shipped once a determination has been made.
  • Assist and provide support to sales staff.
  • Advise sales of order status when required
  • Free AMs from appropriate administrative tasks allowing AMs to focus on new business sales
  • Act as primary service contact for accounts on roster of AMs being supported
  • Manage incoming sales inquiries
  • Follow up on customer issues, deliverables, etc. (post pick up phone calls)
  • Generates outbound loads for waste leaving our 10-day hub going to other ACT 10-day hubs or facilities, this includes verification of piece count with our dock personal, copying and emailing our other 10-day branches and other non-ACT branches of the upcoming loads.
  • Assist customers in reactivating EPA numbers
  • Assist customers in obtaining a temporary EPA ID number
  • Creating and updating customer specific monthly and quarterly waste reports,
  • Prepare and present ARM on select accounts
  • Miscellaneous tasks (prepping marketing packets, creating binders, etc.)
  • Work with marketing on new account proposals
  • Assist in keeping the Fremouw Environmental Services (FES) yard in compliance by identifying waste streams being generated on site, creating profiles, manifests, and labels for proper disposal of the waste.
  • Assist drivers/technicians with technical issues while on a job site which can include adding waste streams to a pickup, profiling issues and waste identification.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

  • Knowledge of the hazardous waste industry a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug-screen
  • Availability to work weekends and extended hours as needed

Education/Experience

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Experience in the hazardous materials/waste industry preferred
