Seeking a motivated 1st shift Technical Supervisor for Metrology & Test Equipment Maintenance at Raytheon.
In this role the candidate will be responsible for scheduling equipment repairs, test station calibrations, and preventative maintenance across multiple manufacturing test platforms and programs. The candidate will leverage communication skills through daily interaction with other cross-business teams to meet organizational and program goals and objectives. Ensuring safety, cost, quality, and delivery commitments while at the same time identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities are critical criteria for this position.
The department supports the maintenance, repair, and calibration of over 450 test platforms across numerous production manufacturing programs. The suite of test stations serviced includes mixed signal, in-circuit test, power, RF, vibration, and thermal capabilities, among others. In addition, the department partners with operations and engineering groups to deliver technical engineering solutions across all Test Equipment functions.
This is a full-time onsite position located in Andover, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Candidate will lead 1st shift activities with minimal supervision, supporting Test Equipment maintenance, repair, and calibration activities in specific factory area(s)
Will manage a team of 10 or less calibration technicians within a collective bargaining unit (union) through troubleshooting faults in automated and semi-automated Test Equipment including circuit board testers, functional testers, and complex test stations
Troubleshoot, including repair of commercial off the shelf (COTS) Test Equipment and highly complex production test stations, often to the component level
Provide high quality, on-time communication and coordination with leadership teams across all shifts
Responsibilities also include: workforce planning and forecasting, employee training, time and attendance tracking, capital planning, control of overhead expenses and ensuring the enforcement of company policies and procedures
Successful candidates will be capable of multi-tasking, motivating a team of represented employees, prioritizing and implementing complex maintenance and repair activities.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
5 years of experience in repair/calibration of test measurement or diagnostic equipment
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution
Ability to use common Windows-based computer software, such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint), online browser-based tools, and e-mail
Experience leading a team in repair/calibration test measurement or diagnostic equipment
Ability to use and apply mechanical and electrical schematics, drawings, and diagnostic tools to isolate and repair Test Equipment and station faults
Familiarity with IndySoft calibration management software
Experience with ISO 17025 and ANSI Z540 metrology standards
Experience using common troubleshooting tools such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, counters, signal generators
Prior supervisory experience with represented (union) employees
Understanding of metrics related to equipment uptime, including how to report them using tools such as Excel, Microsoft Power BI, KPIs, or other mechanisms.
