Job Purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a Technical Specialist, Semiconductor Power Switch Development. The Technical Specialist, Semiconductor Power Switch Developmentwill provide for the design and development of the world class Semiconductor Power Switches used within PDS products on a global basis.

Safety

Job Purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a Technical Specialist, Semiconductor Power Switch Development. The Technical Specialist, Semiconductor Power Switch Developmentwill provide for the design and development of the world class Semiconductor Power Switches used within PDS products on a global basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Interface with global engineering teams developing physical aspects of automotive power stage electronics
- Global lead for Semiconductor Power Switch assembly and cooling
- Direct the establishment of advanced microelectronics interconnect technologies, including soldering and sintering
- Interface with global power semiconductor suppliers to develop solutions (IGBTs, FETs, Diodes, wideband semiconductors, SiC devices and GaN devices)
- Advanced development of critical power stage components
- Lead effort to develop custom high performance package design, analysis and modeling
- Lead design of cooling technologies for Semiconductor Power Switches
- Provide technology roadmaps and strategies for future automotive applications
- Support thermal and structural analysis of design concepts
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors and Masters degree in electrical or mechanical engineering required
- Proven knowledge of automotive environments
- Proficiency in developing advanced semiconductor packaging concepts and technologies
- Demonstrated technical support of production semiconductor assembly
- Expert materials analysis for semiconductor attachment and interconnect in harsh environments
- Proficiency in patent composing/understanding and analysis
- Excellent communication skills
- Minimum 15 years of experience in automotive engineering required
- Proven success with microelectronic assembly advanced development
- Proven understanding of microelectronic thermal management
- Expert knowledge of hybrid and PCB technologies appropriate for automotive use
- Expert knowledge of microelectronic assembly processes, including joining and overmold processes
- Established ability to provide technical leadership to global engineering teams
- Well versed in engineering analysis laboratory equipment operation
- Strong / effective contacts within industry and academic arenas
- Travel may be required up to 10%
