Job Description: Alterian is seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager from a software consultancy / implementation background to join our Professional Services team.
The Professional Services team delivers implementation services, expert services, technical advice and best practice on the deployment and execution of our software to both Partners and direct clients. Projects range in size from a few days to hundreds of days and could include software implementations, solution upgrades, script / rule building, campaign building and reporting set-up.
The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for scoping, managing, and delivering our projects to partners, end-clients and internally. You will be expected to gain a good technical understanding of Alterian’s technology and play an active role in the project with tasks such as running discovery and design workshops.
To be successful, you will develop a good technical knowledge of all Alterian products and be established as a “trusted adviser” for customers and senior executive stakeholders.

What Technical Project Managers do:
- Delivery of highly visible technical projects to both new and existing Alterian Clients and Partners.
- Project delivery using the Alterian Project Management and project delivery methodologies. Tasks include:
- Creation and maintenance of project documentation
- sets agendas, facilitates meetings and identifying next steps.
- Customer business requirements capture and alignment with Alterian software capabilities.
- Solution scoping and estimating.
- Communicate effectively by understanding information from multiple sources to keep all stakeholders informed and engaged with project progress in a variety of formats.
- Identification and management of risks, issues & changes.
- Present analysis of impact, dependencies, and risk for any project deviations
- Proposes continuous improvements from well facilitated lessons learned sessions.
- Recognizing and resolving blockers.
- Carry out technical, discovery, design and project-related workshops with clients and partners.
- Work closely with customers and partners to design customer and partner solutions.
- Interface directly with our partner network to exchange information and learnings, enabling continued and relevant knowledge transfer.
- Continuous improvements to the methodology and documentation pack as and when required.
- Be commercially aware of the scope of work.
Requirements:
- You will ideally have 5 years or more experience as a Technical Project Manager within a Professional Services/ software delivery team with a proven ability to deliver projects within budget and time. A technical background is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Highly professional, with the ability to communicate appropriately, both verbally and in writing, to a mix of executive staff, business sponsors, and technical resources in clear concise language in the vernacular of each group.
- Project Management certification (Prince II / Scrum) or equivalent.
- Demonstrable knowledge of customer experience management, digital marketing and campaign management software and principles.
- Some knowledge of defining / building integrations with third party applications via RESTful web services and an understanding of ETL tools.
- Experience of data modelling and data management.
- An understanding of Machine Learning would be an advantage.
- Must have the right to live and work in the US.
- National and International travel will sometimes be required. Therefore, the candidate must have:
- a full driving license.
- a valid passport with the ability to travel internationally when required.
