Network Engineer I
Location: Denver, CO
Salary: $35.10-40.53/hr

Description of Role

SRI Telecom is seeking a Network Engineer with relevant experience to contribute to all areas of expertise with various cross functional project teams. The successful engineer will work with the team in managing the ticketing process of starting/managing workflows, manage large amounts of data to report on upcoming work, assist Eng2's with provisioning and integration of new equipment into the network. This is an entry level role but basic understanding of Juniper, Arista and Cisco network protocol. Also experience in Broadband systems preferred.

Salary

This position pays an average of $37.84/hr, depending on experience.

Tasks

  • Collaborates and consults with internal teams to develop and maintain technical documentation related to the construction and operations.
  • Maintain, develop, and publish technical documentation for Outside Plant, Inside Plant, and the Access Network that will be utilized by various organizations to effectively implement critical projects.
  • Uses advanced engineering skills and knowledge to solve complex development problems and achieve engineering goals.
  • Integrate content as illustrations, graphs, infographics, tables, figures, flow charts, etc.
  • Research user feedback for revisions and improvements to technical content as required.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and cross-functional teams to collect and incorporate specific concepts and requirements into the document.
  • Applies system architecture, design, and specification within engineering projects and initiatives.
  • Possesses the ability to rapidly grasp new technologies and abstractions and apply them in a meaningful way.
  • Communicates results of applied work processes and practical application of technical standards into actionable insight.
  • Sets the tone and pace for work performance within project groups and impressionable Engineering staff.
  • Maintains a high level of accountability - taking ownership of problems and seeing them through to resolution.
  • Hands-on IP router/switch/telephony customer premises equipment -Design, configure and deploy LAN and WAN network connections, hardware, software and communication links and services.
  • Optimize the network and systems services and troubleshoot any network performance issues.
  • Responsible for the service provision and monitoring of the network infrastructure to company standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Responsibilities

  • Specific knowledge and 1 to 3 years' experience with Cisco and Juniper routers
  • Strong knowledge of internetworking designs and their applications and routing
  • Solid knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 internetworking technologies
  • 1 to 3 years' Experience with protocols -Firewall experience with firewalls such as (Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint NG etc.) -Extensive experience with Cisco switches and routers -Certifications such as (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
  • Experience in the following technical spaces: Network Design & Engineering, MSOs Architectures (multiple-system operators), including HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax), DAA (Distributed Access Architecture), PON (Passive Optical Network), Fiber Optic Networking, Broadband Networks, etc.
  • Construction Related: Plant Design & Construction
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Visio, technical & spec writing
  • A self-starter who demonstrates critical thinking, self-motivation, courage, and curiosity.
  • Ability to partner with functional teams to influence and drive alignment.
  • An aptitude for technology and thrives in solving complex problems.
  • A natural inclination to work collaboratively, to be transparent, and seek and give feedback continuously.
  • Thrive under pressure and in a fast-paced environment while being adaptable and responsive.
