Status: Part-Time-On-Call (Hybrid)
BlackFish Federal is seeking a Technical Information Specialist in support of our customer, the Environmental Protection Agency Information Management Center Services V (EPA IMCS V). This position is responsible for providing inter-library loan borrowing and lending services.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of experience with technical service activities in a library or docket center or similar information service center setting. Progressively responsible related experience may be substituted for the college coursework on a year-for-year basis.
• Requires working knowledge of standard desktop software such as Word and Excel and proficient Internet skills.
• Ability to work independently in a small office environment and be able to communicate effectively, patiently, and courteously with all patrons and staff.
• Ability to push book carts weighing up to 50 pounds; ability to lift boxes or materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
• US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident status in order to pass a government sponsored background investigation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with OCLC or similar software for copy cataloging, interlibrary loan and other professional library systems. Experience with research databases such as ProQuest and ScienceDirect.
• Prior experience in an EPA or EPA contractor role a plus.
• Experience with training and outreach a plus.
Essential Functions:

• Maintain the library serials and circulation systems and oversee the proper maintenance of material in the library or docket center. This may include shelving new and returned library or docket materials, collection shifting, as well as maintaining library or docket equipment in good working order such as microform reader/printer/scanners and photocopiers and performing other tasks as directed.
• Provide information services such as answering ready-reference questions regarding documents, use of the library catalog, and referring persons requiring professional or technical librarian support to appropriate staff.

• Performs other duties as needed.
