The Public SafetyTechnical Analyst is responsible for the installation, layout, and maintenance of computer, communications devices, and mobile devices used in support Public Safety Services in Pasco County. This position plans, designs, analyzes, and provides technical support for digital communications. In addition, this position may also install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain computer equipment used in production, such as laptops, desktops, ToughBooks, mobile devices, and wireless equipment. Other duties that may be performed includes but is not limited to: identifying and resolving production issues; following escalation and notification procedures; following change and problem management procedures; participating in project teams; keeping abreast of technology development; providing after-hours support; researching and evaluating new technologies to be used in new or next-generation solutions; providing status reports, and managing detailed project plans. Provides status reports giving a detailed description of tasks and time devoted to each task. Performs detailed tasks. This position also provides support for applications both on-prem and in the cloud and may also perform server maintenance/troubleshooting, assist with network, and assist with camera systems as needed. Serves as a point of contact for vendors. Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. Performs other related work as required or assigned.
- Strong understanding of computer equipment and emerging technologies.
- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot all types of devices, including laptops, desktops, ToughBooks and various mobile devices.
- Knowledge of application support and device imaging.
- Ability to support software and productivity applications.
- Ability to document work and provide accurate reporting of work performed.
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
- Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
- A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years' experience in development and/or maintenance of system/network operations OR possession of a High School Diploma and four (4) years' experience in development and/or maintenance of system/network operations. Experience in computer support and management preferred.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. Must complete a criminal background check and criminal justice information systems training.
