Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Team Lead to join our team in Bruce MS.
Leads team to attain goals in Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost, Culture, and Environment by providing effective coaching and training to distribution/production team members. Organizes and performs full range of complex duties in fast-paced environment that requires thorough understanding of functions within work cell, as well as policies and procedures. Works with supervisor and other Team Leaders to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and production schedule are met.
Major Responsibilities
  • Prepares production floor for daily production; monitors and adjusts production based on inventory and planned machine downtime, ensuring work cell is sufficiently staffed to meet production demands.
  • Works with supervisor to develop annual plans for goal attainment and facilitate cascading of goals and objectives to production team members.
  • Reviews and communicates production set-up for accuracy and quality requirements.
  • Motivates workers to enhance production quality and, at same time, maintain production requirements.
  • Checks finished products to ensure quality and customer standards are met.
  • Executes and coordinates member training to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Uses lean fundamentals and robust problem solving to ensure stable operation of work cell.
  • Monitors and predicts flow to ensure work cell is able to respond efficiently to production changes.
  • Reports concerns or problems with safety, quality, processes, equipment, materials, and labor to supervisor and identifies potential solutions to resolve issues.
  • Works closely with support staff such as Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Materials Management, Customer Service, and Distribution department members to resolve issues.
  • Observes, maintains, coordinates, and completes standard work to improve work processes.
  • Updates production metrics and facilitates regular team communications; maintains Team Boards.
  • Identifies and supports continuous improvement efforts with supervisor and team members.
  • Sustains and drives lean manufacturing and Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain (5S) activities.
  • Participates as active member of team and completes work assignments.
  • Follows documented policies and procedures as designated by company's safety, quality, and production systems; communicates concerns with safety, quality, equipment/production systems.
  • Observes and audits detailed standardized work, processes, and procedures through scheduled GEMBA walks.
  • Ensures safe
  • ty and productivity of all members while enforcing safety processes and procedures.
  • Enables effective communications between management and members.
  • Trains new members, using pre-specified training method, and coaches existing members.
  • Maintains clean and safe work place, ensuring equipment and machinery are properly maintained and promptly repaired.
  • Investigates and reports all incidents (spills, accidents, poor performance). Assists with safety and quality investigations.
  • Ensures work cell is appropriately handed over to subsequent shift and all cross-shift communication is completed.
  • Performs all duties as assigned to ensure department and plant meet daily and weekly production requirements.
  • Flexes work schedule as business demands; may work more than eight hours per day and/or forty hours per week, including weekends and/or holidays.
  • Utilizes standard company software programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook), via personal computer (PC) and keyboard/ mouse, while performing functions of position.

Do you meet these qualifications?
EDUCATION
  • High school education or equivalent (equivalent is defined as equivalent degree OR job-specific work experience OR combination of education and job-specific work experience; three years job-specific work experience equals one year of formal education).

WORK REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
  • Two years related team-based experience in manufacturing environment, including experience with standard company software programs (i.e., Microsoft Office suite of products).
  • Experience leading teams or projects strongly desired.
  • Experience in Systems, Applications, Processes (SAP) environment preferred.

ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Large-sized equipment utilized in some areas.
  • Moderate exposure to noise, dust, fumes, dirt, solvent, glue, grease, oil, paint, heat, and/or vibrations.
  • May require repeated and sustained lifting and reaching.
  • Repeated bending at knees; may have constant forward flexed spine.
  • Constant mental and visual attention required.
  • Must wear protective clothing in specific work areas.
  • Hearing and eye protection required.

Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship required.
Ideally, you have also demonstrated the following:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, and/or quality documents.
  • Ability to communicates effectively through oral and written communications.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems and use metrics to predict performance.
  • Ability to collaboratively work with others.
  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to be flexible and willing to adapt in dynamic environment.
