POSITION SUMMARY

The individual in this position will support the Outbound Supervisor in coordinating the daily activities of associates involved in verifying, record keeping, allocation, and picking operations. Their primary responsibility will be to ensure that outgoing shipments align with the business requirements and meet the daily targets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to prioritize shipments, assign work, and determine appropriate shipping methods to meet schedules.
  • Assist in supervising Outbound Shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper condition of shipments.
  • Help determine space requirements and optimal positioning of shipments in trucks.
  • Inspect loading operations to ensure adherence to shipping specifications.
  • Inspect material handling equipment for any defects or issues.
  • Aid in directing the movement of shipments from the shipping area to the staging area.
  • Maintain records of unfilled orders.
  • Prepare bills of lading.
  • Support the training of new associates.
  • Collect and compile daily performance metrics for associates.
  • Operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment in a professional and safe manner.
  • Participate in a collaborative work environment utilizing effective communication and willingness to cross train to enhance team productivity, versatility, and skill development.
  • Comply with comprehensive safety protocols and participate in ongoing training to ensure a secure work environment and maintain a safety-conscious culture.
  • Follow all 5S principles and guidelines daily to optimize workflow, efficiency, and a clean work environment.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills required)

  • Preferred: High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification; 4 years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Material Handling Equipment Experience: Pallet Jack, Forklift, Hand Truck, Pallet Jack, Reach Truck, etc.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of following instructions and responding to management direction.
  • Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exhibits experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Has the ability to read and interpret various documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills.
