Teaching Assistant Job Description

Duties:
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing educational activities for students
- Provide support and guidance to students in the classroom
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and modify curriculum materials
- Utilize instructional design techniques to enhance student learning
- Conduct research to support curriculum development and instructional strategies
- Utilize technology platforms such as Blackboard for online learning and communication
- Provide individual and small group tutoring to students as needed
- Mentor and provide academic advising to students on their educational journey

Requirements:
- Experience working with students in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development and instructional design principles
- Proficient in using technology platforms such as Blackboard for online learning
- Ability to provide effective tutoring, mentoring, and academic advising to students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with the lead teacher and other staff members

Contracted job description:

-Serve morning Breakfast, snack, and lunch

· -Clean up after each meal/snack

· -Send daily updates through Brightwheel, with permission (pictures and messages)

· -Partake in the organization of daily activities for students

· -Ensure the safety of each child, indoors and outdoors

· -Communicate issues and needs with supervisors

· -Send parents reminder of needed items when told (ex. Diapers or tissues)

· -Clean classroom, kitchen, and bathroom based on your scheduled duties

· -Clean toys twice a week, based on your scheduled duties

· -Advise supervisor of items and supplies needed

· -Change children’s diapers/assist in the bathroom when needed

· -Clean up after outdoor activities

· -Dismiss children to known family members and known authorized pick-up persons

· -Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children and staff. -Report suspected neglect and/or child abuse by staff or parents to DCFS.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
