High Point School is a State of New Jersey approved, private school for students with disabilities. Students who attend are ages 5-21, and grades K-12, from school districts throughout New Jersey.

ABOUT OUR ROLE:The One-to-One Teaching Assistant is responsible for assisting with the implementation of IEP goals and objectives, behavioral interventions and helps maintain a safe classroom atmosphere. Responsibilities include assisting the teacher with the instruction of academics, pre-vocational training, behavior management and promoting social and emotional well-being of the individual student.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid N.J. Driver's License required.
- High School Diploma, BA preferred.
- Interest and ability to work with students with various classifications and behavioral disabilities.
- Individuals should be flexible and enjoy working in a team environment.
- COVID-19 Vaccination required; booster optional.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists teacher in the implementation of classroom program, e.g., IEP goals and objectives, recreational, behavioral, social, personal hygiene, and pre-vocational goals.
- Participates in conferences or planning meetings and share information concerning student progress and needs.
- Assists in maintaining classroom management.
- Required to provide transportation for students for off grounds gym activities.
- Will be required to participate in JKM Crisis Management Training
- Required to work ESY based on program needs and student enrollment.
