Rowan University’s ASPIRE to Teach Program, in the College of Education, accepts both Certificate of Eligibility (CE) and Limited Certificate of Eligibility (Limited CE) holders.
The ASPIRE to Teach Educator PreparationProgram (EPP) was recently developed in response to the newly revised NJDOE regulations for alternate route programs. This program is for employed teachers who have not completed a teacher preparation program but have met state requirements and have been issued a CE/Limited CE. ASPIRE is a hybrid program that offers both a 50-Hour Pre-Professional Component and a Two-Year Program (Semesters 1-4). The program includes weekly online modules, video coaching, and monthly Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings, which occur on Saturdays, with whole-group time usually 8:30am-11:30am.
This position is an in-person, part-time appointment (@20 hours/week) with dedicated office space in James Hall, 3rd floor Center for Access, Success, and Equity. Technology (computer, phone) is provided for this position.
ASPIRE Administrative Assistant will be responsible for:
- Initial point of contact for ASPIRE mailbox - tracks and sends standard email responses
- Tracks candidates’ application and document submission
- Enters demographic information into the database
- Processes candidates’ payments, program invoices and special assignment contracts; notifies administrators of late payments
- Tracks grade and attendance; notifies ALIs and administrators
- Schedules and records staff meeting notes
- Attends PLC meetings (whole-group time); records attendance; copies materials, completes setup
Required Qualifications:
- Earned high school diploma
- Minimum of three years of experience in secretarial and administrative clerical work
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and multi-tasking proficiency
Preferred Qualifications:
- Earned Associates or BA/BS degree
- Experience working in educational office settings (P-12 districts or College/University)
