Interviews are scheduled to commence in March (Potentially Sooner), with successful candidates expected to start in August for the upcoming school year.
1. Possess a bachelor's degree in the relevant subject area, with a preference for candidates holding an advanced degree.
2. Demonstrate three to five years of proven experience in teaching English Language Arts at the middle and/or high school levels.
3. Showcase expertise in working with students in the realm of executive functioning, illustrating a track record of supporting and enhancing students' cognitive processes related to organization, time management, and problem-solving.
As the Teacher of Writing and Learning Skills, you will be responsible for instructing three to four Middle School courses within the Learning Skills curriculum. This entails designing engaging lesson plans, crafting educational materials, and evaluating students' progress in alignment with the curriculum guidelines.
Additionally, a key aspect of your role involves delivering personalized one-to-one executive function support to Middle and Upper School students (classes 5-12). This support is tailored to enhance students' cognitive processes related to organization, time management, and problem-solving. Your responsibilities extend to collaborating with individual students, identifying their specific needs, and implementing strategies to foster the development of effective executive function skills.
In summary, this role combines group teaching in the Learning Skills curriculum with the provision of targeted, individualized support to students, aiming to create a comprehensive educational environment for Middle and Upper School students.
