$50,097-$97,837/year depending on prior experience; Pay is annualized over 12 months (if hired after start of school year, spread over remaining months of fiscal year (Sept-Aug))

• Professional Development and Supply Allocation Funds:
The District will provide annually $700 per FTE employee for reimbursement of 1) Classes, conferences and/or workshops; 2) Purchase of work related materials (no gift cards may be purchased with these funds for any reason); 3) Certification Support
• New Certified Staff Funds:
The District will provide a one-time $400 per FTE reimbursement to new employees with one year or less previous teaching experience (includes substitute time) to support initial classroom setup and supply needs. Does not apply to partial year leave replacement contracts.
BENEFITS:
Paid leave; If utilizing flexible hours/schedule, position hours must generate at least 630 work hours in the current school year for the following to apply: Medical, dental, vision, and basic life and AD&D insurance; retirement plan; deferred compensation (DRS and TSA)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with ELA endorsement and with social studies endorsement preferred; WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance
*Transfer into this position is restricted and not subject to the voluntary transfer provisions and seniority of the current collective bargaining agreement (page 19). Employees seeking transfer into the restricted positions not currently holding the restricted position must apply and the top four candidates, as determined by the hiring team, will be guaranteed an interview with out-of-district candidates.
Three Springs High School is a small, choice, alternative high school in the Cheney School District. Due to the size of the school, teachers often teach classes outside of their content area in support of student schedules. We are a Summit learning school. This is a project-based, collaborative, and co-teaching position. The teacher will work collaboratively with other staff to plan and teach courses. In addition, staff works collaboratively within a strong PLC team to support the whole child's growth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must hold or qualify for a Washington teaching certificate with English Language endorsement and Social Studies endorsement (preferred) with ability to teach both content areas.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrate understanding of, and actively participate in, building and district Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
- Demonstrate instructional skill in English Language Arts and Social Studies.
- Demonstrate ability to develop appropriate learning objectives around Washington State Standards as well as Common Core Standards as they pertain to the position assignment(s) listed above.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current trends in the fields of English Language Arts and Social Studies curriculum and instructional techniques.
- Demonstrate knowledge in teaching/advising areas of speech and/or debate.
- Demonstrate ability to use a variety of assessment strategies, including preparing students for high school state assessments.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in instructional uses of technology.
- Demonstrate ability to work within a non-traditional high school schedule structure.
- Demonstrate ability to understand and implement a blended learning program (project-based, face-to-face, online, etc).
- Demonstrate ability to create, implement, and maintain student learning plans.
- Demonstrate ability to create and implement elective classes outside the areas of ELA/Social Studies in a non-traditional high school setting.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in technology.
- Demonstrate desire to work with other teachers and foster a collaborative environment.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instruction, and activity program(s) consistent with building philosophy.
- Communicate student progress to staff, students, and parents.
- Maintain classroom discipline and use effective classroom management skills.
- Maintain appropriate student records, long-range and weekly lesson plans.
- Provide for individual differences in student learning styles.
- Work with colleagues to evaluate and improve programs.
- Communicate school programs to patrons.

- Previous teaching in Language Arts at high school level preferred.
- Previous teaching in Social Studies at high school level preferred.
