Work You'll Do
Assist large-scaled operating partnership tax clients (20%). Gain diverse industry experience by working on engagements across industries including private equity, oil & gas, healthcare, technology, financial products, green energy, consumer products and more (20%). Assist clients with public offering transactions including initial proxy and registration statements for Up-C and SPAC structures (10%). Work with Up-C clients on an ongoing basis (5%). Create cutting-edge technology solutions around U.S. federal income tax principles for partnership tax, data analytics, and user experience (10%). Identify service opportunities, manage client accounts, and advance various Deloitte initiatives (10%). Possess the professionalism necessary for the effective diagnosis, solution, and implementation of client issues (15%). Assist with the preparation and delivery of proposals for engagements and possess a working knowledge of the range of services offered by the organization (5%). Coordinate assignments by Tax Consultants and Seniors and provide them with leadership, counseling and career guidance (5%).
Requirements
- Master's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
- Three years of experience as a Tax Manager or related occupation gaining experience providing tax analysis, planning, and compliance services.
- Experience must include three years of:
- Providing tax planning process and technology and tax department review and optimization for operating partnership services;
- Implementing and utilizing tax technology tools to calculate partnership allocations, capital account maintenances, and transactional modeling for operating partnerships;
- Assisting with clients' tax logic implementation, executing test cases, resolving issues, and preparing enhancements due to legislative updates;
- Assisting clients with the application of 743(b), 734(b), 732, and 752 principles and computations;
- Assisting clients with the interpretation of complex partnership and tax receivable agreements, including reading, interpreting, and executing contracts;
- Coordinating and executing complex tax projects for clients, including partnership mergers, partnership restructuring, and pre-IPO Up-C structuring;
- Assisting clients with schedule K-1 processing;
- Performing complex partnership computations, including IRC 704(c) computations, basis adjustment computations under IRC 743(b), and performing 704(c) allocations, including partnership reorganizations;
- Collaborating with clients to assist, design, and streamline tax compliance processes, including partnership-specific tax calculations, allocations through tiered partnership structures, and Schedule K-1 preparation; and
- Utilizing tax software, including CCH Access, GoSystem, ProSystems, Corptax, RIA Checkpoint, and BNA Income Tax Planner, to provide tax compliance and consulting services to various clients.
