The Tax Accountant will be responsible for applying a strong background in tax strategy and a passion for helping small to midsize businesses succeed to Uplinq clients. The ideal candidate will be adept at selling set tax packages and then providing hands-on support to implement effective tax strategies. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of tax laws applicable to various industries.

Things you will do:

• Sales and Consultation: Sell Uplinq's tax packages through engaging video conferencing presentations as a closer, working in collaboration with our internal sales team.
• Tax Strategy Development: Work closely with clients to understand their business models and financial goals, developing customized tax strategies that align with their needs.
• Implementation Support: Assist clients in the implementation of tax strategies, ensuring seamless integration with their existing financial systems and processes.
• Compliance and Updates: Keep abreast of changing tax laws and regulations, advising clients of necessary adjustments to maintain compliance and optimize tax benefits.
• Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing ongoing support and advice on tax-related matters.
• Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of implemented tax strategies, providing clients with insights and recommendations for further optimization.

• Train and mentor junior staff members on tax-related matters.

What we are looking for:

• Active EA or CPA certification.
• Must have strong Excel skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in tax strategy planning and consultation, particularly for small to midsize businesses.- Extensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge creatively to benefit clients.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work part-time hours with flexibility to meet clients’ needs.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong sales skills with the ability to articulate the value of tax packages to prospective clients.
• Proficiency with tax software Drake.
• Pacific time zone is a plus.

Other Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, math, finance, or economics is required.

Experience

• 7+ years’ experience in public accounting or finance, managing accounting and financial operations.
• Significant experience with QuickBooks Online and experience adapting to new processes and software very quickly.
