ABOUT THIS ROLE
Salary: $130-150k bases (DOE) + benefits and bonus
Job Type: Full Time, hybrid (2 office days per week) |
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Tax Season: Schedule is much more manageable than public accounting firms
In this role, you will impact company success by leading and nurturing a work culture that promotes: (1) open, frequent, and dynamic communication among staff, and (2) teamwork to accomplish desired goals and objectives.
This will include demonstrating and fostering a standard of collaborative excellence for your team of accounting analysts in:
Reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and federal and state income tax returns within designated time frames,
Understanding and resolving complex accounting issues,
Providing recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures,
Meeting productivity and efficiency standards (billable hours),
Communicating directly with external clients on most topics and assisting w/special projects with minimal review notes, and
Ensuring professionalism and confidentiality with client matters.
Note: This position does not have any direct reports.

You have:
3+ years of tax and/or insurance company accounting experience
2+ years of experience in a senior accounting or manager role
Advanced knowledge of GAAP and IRS Tax Code/Regulations
Familiarity with IRS Circular 230 Regulations Governing the Practice of Attorneys, Certified Public Accountants, Actuaries and Enrolled Agents and the AICPA Professional Code of Conduct
Advanced abilities with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and QuickBooks
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or the equivalent education and/or experience
Preferred: Successful experience with forms 1120 and 1065
You could also have:
Enterprise Software proficiency: SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc. (preferred, not required)
