Quanex is looking for a Tax Accountant to join our team located in Houston, Texas.
The Tax Accountant will be responsible for performing tax compliance and provision, as well as supporting the team with research, audits, and special projects.

What Success Looks Like:
- Preparation of state and local income and franchise tax returns including supporting workpapers
- Handle all correspondence with state and local tax authorities
- Research and provide assistance to divisions on any SALT and indirect tax queries
- Support quarter-close and collecting data for ASC740 tax accounting including SOX compliance
Your Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
- Experience with OneSource applications preferred
- 2- 5 years of working knowledge on nexus considerations, unitary filings, apportionment methodologies, tax base rules, tax research as it relates to multi-state jurisdictions
- Broad exposure to SALT including knowledge in income and franchise tax, indirect tax, and credits and incentives
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
The annual salary range for this position is $70,000 to $100,000 with the potential to receive an annual bonus up to a maximum of 35% of your annual base salary.
