Job purpose:

 

In keeping a tradition of excellence, the purpose of the Data Management MSIS: Student Data is to provide management services to Director of Data Management, using independent judgment in overseeing and completing procedures, ensuring all monthly deadlines are met, and providing resolutions, not only within the office of Data Management and Information, but for the District and the general public as well. Duties and responsibilities:

 
  • Accept the responsibility of supervising and providing direction for support staff, maintain an extensive knowledge base, and leadership skills that will enhance office dynamics and produce the high quality level of information from this department to which the District is accustomed

  • Enter and/or update personnel information in MSIS, including all demographic information, schedules, and salaries initially and as changes occur throughout the year

  • Update board minutes bi-monthly in MSIS and the student package

  • Enter initial personnel schedules in MSIS in preparation for submission of Month 1 and make changes/updates throughout the year

  • Assist schools each month in making corrections on errors received when sending data to MSIS until each school is successful

  • Assist schools each month after they become "successful" in verifying monthly data as required by the ADA Division, Office of the State Auditor

  • Collaborate with Data Management staff responsible for entering SPED teacher schedules initially and throughout the year to ensure Federal Placement calculates correctly

  • Print and/or proof personnel schedules monthly in MSIS in preparation of the December 1 Personnel snapshot taken by MDE

  • Analyze MAEP and Accreditation reports after Months 1 and 2 to minimize errors

  • Verify special student populations' data monthly in student package, including Vocational and Gifted, to verify accuracy in student rosters by printing Class Load Analysis reports in student package and notifying the appropriate directors if discrepancies are found

  • Conduct meetings with directors to identify errors-be proactive in tracking student data

  • Print Monthly Class Overload Reports to identify areas not in compliance with Accreditation standards

  • Manage bookkeeping and/or accounting duties

  • Lead and attend staff meetings/trainings as applicable; serve on staff committees

  • Assume responsibility for own professional growth and development, for keeping current with literature, new research findings, for attending appropriate professional meetings and conferences, and to maintain any credits and/or continued education for maintenance of licensure/qualifications required for the position

  • Maintain and accept responsibility for any district owned fixed asset item assigned to employee and ensure appropriate use by following district policies for acceptable use

  • Undergo periodic evaluations according to state and board policy procedures

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Regular, dependable and in person attendance is an essential function of this position

  • Perform such other and not specifically enumerated duties as may be requested by the Board of Education, superintendent, administrator, director or established by district policy

  • Read, understand, and abide by Employee Conduct Policy, GAB, all other district, state and federal policies, and procedures and protocols as established by RCSD and the Mississippi Educator Code of Conduct
