SMX is seeking a PC Systems Specialist to join our client delivery team in Vicksburg, MS.
In this role, you will work with clients performing planning, design and installation tasks for a wide range of complex hardware and software solutions. Our PC Systems Specialist will support end users with system selection, on-site installations and their training needs.
Responsibilities for the PC Systems Specialist include:
- Serve as the first point of contact for ERDC customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
- Provide end user support for desktop and notebook systems utilizing remote support tools
- Interact with users daily and assist them with technical issues related to their Windows or Macintosh desktop or notebook system, client application software, printers, or mobile device
- Perform desktop and laptop imagining and installation as needed
- Record all work in a helpdesk ticketing system
- Provide professional, courteous, prompt, and accurate IT support and solutions to corporate end users
- Work together on issues with other IT technical staff when required
- Document and maintain configuration and process information
Required Skills and Experience:
- Clearance required: Ability to obtain Secret
- Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining network printing devices
- Experience supporting desktop VPN client configuration and operations
- 2+ years hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience
- 2+ years' experience supporting desktop operating systems in a Microsoft Active Directory environment
- 2+ years' experience supporting the following software:
- Microsoft Office suite
- Adobe Acrobat
- Internet Explorer
- Google Chrome
- Firefox
- Safari
- McAfee Virus protection (or other enterprise antivirus solution)
- CompTIA A+ certification (within first 6 months of hire)
Desired Qualifications:
- College Degree preferred (Bachelor's or Associate's)
- 1+ year experience supporting Mac OS in an active directory enterprise environment.
- Experience with Bomgar Remote Support Tools
