Lockheed Martin is looking for an energetic and high performing Senior Staff Systems Engineer to join the team in Longmont, Colorado.
This position is in support of the NextGen OPIR program, responsible for Mission Integration and system engineering oversight of the mission thread for the program. The role will oversee the Requirements, Interfaces, and ConOps for IR processing starting from photons collected in space through warning messages transmitted to end users to achieve System Certification and Operational Acceptance.
In this role, you will:
Lead a team of engineers performing integration, test, and verification of OPIR mission performance software
Utilize MBSE to trace requirement allocations and verification activities to system components, develop system use cases, and establish ICD compliance in a complex system
Utilize Linux, OpenShift, and custom software to integrate and test ground software for the OPIR mission
Design and lead pre-launch test campaigns to verify and validate lower level and system requirements utilizing simulated data
Validate pre-launch testing during Early On Orbit test and produce test products and reports for Developmental and Operational testing to allow Operational Acceptance for each space vehicle
Present integration and performance status for program and customer management
Travel along the Front Range of Colorado on a monthly basis will be required, with occasional out of state travel for technical interchange meetings, design reviews and system test activities.
Typically has 14 - 20 years of professional experience.
