AMP Robotics is hiring a System Engineer - Mechanical in our Louisville, Colorado office (hybrid schedule).

The System Engineer will be reporting to the Director of Hardware to focus on designing, developing, and testing autonomous recycling products.

As our System Engineer, you will work to:

  • Work in a team of 6 engineers on fast-moving, rapidly evolving R&D autonomous recycling products
  • Serve as the technical lead on projects, responsible for initial technical scoping and estimating, interface definition, and systems integration activities.
  • Decompose marketing requirements into "SMART" engineering requirements
  • Establish and incorporate effective brainstorming approaches to explore the solution space and quickly down select to optimal paths.
  • Identify and maintain technical risk mitigation efforts to ensure projects are delivered on time and in scope.
  • Provide oversight and review of mechanical engineering product design efforts
  • Test, validate, and iterate designs to meet strict performance requirements
  • Regularly collaborate with software and electrical engineers to achieve desired results
  • Develop products from a prototype phase to larger-scale production readiness

The successful candidate will have:

Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent combination of technical experience and work experience
  • 7+ years of industry experience
  • A strong understanding of mechanical and system engineering fundamentals
  • 5+ years System engineering experience
  • Requirements Management and verification test planning
  • Experience with Risk Analysis, Risk Management, DFMEA
  • Experience developing early stage programs/products in an R&D environment and proven ability to bring those products to production
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

It'd be great if you had the following:

  • Experience with DFX (mfg, assembly, service)
  • Experience with industrial equipment or material handling product development and installation best practices
  • Master's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering
  • Experience in Recycling/Waste industry
  • Experience with fluids and pneumatic systems
  • Experience with automation and control systems including robotics
  • Experience with project management, resource management, and scheduling
  • Experience modeling and analyzing steady state and dynamic systems
  • Exposure to a wide variety of production machinery, industrial sensors, and equipment (vision systems, dispense systems, temperature controllers, laser distance sensors, etc)
  • Exposure to ANSI, CE, UL and OSHA safety standards for industrial equipment
  • Basic Electronics knowledge including PCBA design and troubleshooting, wiring and cabling

Education:

  • BSME Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

  • 7 years of experience

Salary and Compensation Information: $125-$140k

Benefits Information:

  • Medical - The company covers up 85% to 100% of the premium for Cigna healthcare plans depending on the selection. Employees pay the difference in premium if they select a more expensive plan. Up to 75% for dependents.
  • Dental, Vision, Short and Long Term Disability.
  • 401(k) retirement plan (non-matching).
