Job Overview:
- The Systems Engineer will be involved in all stages of the product lifecycle from the initial capture of customer requirements through development and finally, deployment to the customer.
- The Systems Engineer will have extensive experience and built knowledge in electrical hardware design (specifically within the domain of Radio Frequency [RF] signal electronics and antennas) including hardware, firmware, and software Integration, Validation, Verification, and Qualification (IVVQ) test environments.
- Within the IVVQ, the Systems Engineer will have had experience developing, authoring, planning, and executing test requirements, and success criteria, and using case analysis to develop test cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development or Maintenance of specification, design, implementation, integration, and testing of NAVAID products.
- Prepares schedule estimates based on proposed solutions.
- Supports configuration management activities for design qualification testing.
- Utilizes a problem-reporting tool to document product issues.
- Participates in peer reviews of system requirements.
- Participates in the integration of software and hardware.
- Creates, defines, analyzes, integrates, and maintains overall System requirements including Hardware (HW) and Software (SW) Analysis and Definition for the particular Competency Center.
- Creates, defines, analyses, test success criteria, use case analysis, test case definition, author test procedures, conduct integration, verification and qualification tests, record test results, and author test reports.
- Contributes to System level integration in terms of requirements knowledge and expectations, planning, and execution of hardware and software integration.
- Assists Product Management with Product Requirements Document (PRD), including integration of Customer-specific requirements and Concept of Operations (CONOPS) generation and maintenance
- Contributes to Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) Estimates and Supports proposals, customer presentations, and New Product Design.
- Provides regular status reports to the project manager and/or project leader.
- Develop, support, and certify simulation of NAVAID RF signal transmission and request responses.
- Acts as technical Point-Of-Contact (POC) for customers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Systems, Electrical, or Software Engineering, or another technical field with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree in Systems, Electrical, or Software Engineering, or another technical field with 4+ years of relevant experience Software and/or Electrical development design experience.
- Proficient in the use of issue-tracking software (e.g., Jira).
- Proficient in the use of requirement management tools (e.g., DOORS).
- Self-motivated, critical thinker with a strong curiosity to learn.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience with interfacing directly with end customers.
- Ability to read and update schematics.
- Must be a self-starter and motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- The ability to speak additional languages such as Italian, French, or German is a benefit.
- Master's Degree in Systems, Electrical or Software Engineering, or another technical field.
- Some mechanical knowledge, AutoCAD.
- Experience with the client's tools and processes.
- Experience with DOD and/or FAA Programs.
