Role Summary
You will be a part of the Infotainment Camera, Imaging & Vision team and will collaborate with various other Rivian teams (SW, HW) as well as external vendors/suppliers. This team develops algorithms and software stacks for features such as Bird's Eye View, Dash-Cam, BUV, GearGuard etc. The Engineer working in this role will be pivotal to the validation efforts in productizing Camera & Vision features across all lines of Rivian vehicles and multiple platforms. Successful candidates must have a strong passion for the latest Imaging & Computer Visions technologies, strong problem solving, debugging and triaging skills.

Pay Disclosure
Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $160,500-$181,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.

Role Summary

Responsibilities
- Design test procedures and validation infrastructure for testing and validating Imaging sub-system and camera use cases (Bird's Eye View, Dash-Cam etc.)
- Develop and maintain manual and automated test plans (functional, end to end, regression) for all automotive camera use cases at system and subsystem level.
- Define, develop, and maintain the automation framework for all Camera use-cases and the corresponding software stack.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams (Engineering, HW, Requirements, Factory, vehicle etc.) to understand the metrics, KPIs, standards and certification and other requirements.
- Participate in the requirements and design reviews to derive, plan, and build the necessary test coverage.
- Work closely with engineering team(s) in root cause analysis and troubleshooting buggy scenarios.
- Provide on-site support for bring-up, Calibration etc. on prototype and production vehicles.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years relevant professional experience in QA or Software Validation domain.
- Experience in automotive electronics and/or consumer electronics is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge in Automotive Camera Systems and software stacks (ex: back up view, rear view, surround view, 360-degree surround view) will be strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in fast - paced development environment.
- Able to read/debug code, familiar with Git, Jira, and software development lifecycle.
- Ability to automate test cases using scripting languages such as Python/Perl/Unix shell.
- Fluency in state-of-the-art embedded software practices using the C/C++ programming language.
- Strong understanding of modern software component design and test methods as well as flashing tools and build pipelines for CI/CD.
- Excellent Python programming skills.
- Fluency in C/C++ programming.
- Fundamental knowledge of Linux operating system. Advanced knowledge is a plus.
