Coilcraft, Inc., a distinguished organization with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1945, has established itself as a global leader in the manufacturing of magnetic components. We specialize in producing high-performance RF chip inductors, power magnetics, and filters, with our corporate headquarters located in Cary, Illinois. At Coilcraft, our IT team is currently looking for a skilled System Administrator/Engineer. As part of our team, you will contribute to maintaining and enhancing the organization's network and systems infrastructure.
Job Duties Include:
Assist in designing, implementing, and managing the organization's network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Deploy and maintain the systems infrastructure, including servers, storage solutions, operating systems, and virtualization platforms.
Collaborate with IT teams to develop integrated network and systems solutions aligned with business objectives and technology standards.
Configure and maintain network devices, ensuring efficient routing, switching, and firewall configurations.
Monitor network and systems performance, identifying and addressing issues to ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal performance.
Perform regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary patches, updates, and security protocols.
Manage network and systems capacity planning to accommodate growth and changing computing requirements.
Provide technical support to end-users and other IT teams, addressing network and systems-related incidents and challenges.
Document network and systems configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to facilitate knowledge sharing and training.
Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in networking and systems engineering.
Automate network and systems tasks using scripting languages and configuration management tools.
Collaborate with vendors and service providers for procurement, maintenance, and support of network and systems equipment and software.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer, Systems Engineer, or similar role, demonstrating proficiency in both networking and systems administration.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and Network security practices.
- Familiarity with various operating systems, including Windows, and Linux, and experience in system administration.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of hardware components, server architecture, and storage systems.
- Familiarity with security tools, encryption, authentication, and patch management for both networks and systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities while adhering to deadlines.
