Job Summary:

The Lead NetworkSystems Administrator and Helpdesk Technician is responsible for providing reliable regional IT Support within the North America organization, ensuring that service levels for performance, availability and support are achieved through the internal global/regional IT infrastructure team and/or external service providers. The incumbent will need to develop a full understanding of the IT support requirements of the regional organization and implement solutions that meet IT service and strategic objectives. They will also be responsible for managing security and patch levels in relation to regional IT infrastructure, including the documentation, communication and implementation of related policies and procedures.

The position holder acts as the business partner or lead for IT related projects and regional IT solutions.

What will you do

  • Take the lead in delivering essential 1st line support for incident tickets and problems, with a special emphasis on Networking Maintenance and Server Upgrades.
  • Managing Microsoft and CISCO networked environments
  • Engage in hands-on maintenance and servicing of local networks, communication lines, PCs, laptops, VoIP phones, conferencing, and other critical IT equipment at the site level.
  • Configure and install new images on laptops and desktops.
  • Close out local helpdesk tickets promptly.
  • Install and maintain computer and telecommunication hardware and software in regional locations.
  • Support the regional IT infrastructure, covering physical and remote access, file servers, data backups, and secure equipment disposal.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of the Regional IT infrastructure, undertaking future capacity planning.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external suppliers for Regional IT infrastructure services.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and documentation for the configuration of the Regional IT infrastructure, updating the hardware database.
  • Provide Basic Project management input and analysis for all IT projects.
  • Ability to travel to other North America/Canada sites.

What do we look for

  • HS diploma or GED required, bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related is preferred.
  • Previous experience in maintaining and servicing local networks and performing server upgrades
  • 7+ years of related helpdesk experience required; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience with Microsoft and CISCO networked environments.
  • Experience in managing LAN, WAN, Wireless, and PBX/VOIP technologies.
  • Experience in managing processes and influencing effectively.
  • Knowledge of Software, including Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Remote Support (Teamviewer), Cherwell Management system, and Active Directory, among other software packages.
  • Understanding and appreciation of current, new, and emerging technologies.
