ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Track HIPAA privacy compliance performance measures, which may include: breach of confidentiality, privacy-related complaints, or incidents involving violations of policy and is responsible for data entry, monitoring and tracking of privacy consultations, investigations, and issues received as well as prepares privacy reports and statistical analyses for internal and external use.
Ensure that privacy complaints, incidents, and violations are properly investigated, timely resolved, and reported to management as necessary, and appropriately documented for regulatory purposes.
Maintain the privacy database. Audit using network tools and report on Accounting of Disclosures and Audit Requests.
Schedule employee disciplinary meetings. May attend certain disciplinary meetings based upon the type of privacy issue.
Prepare patient breach correspondence for review by the SPO. Monitor and reports to SPO of potential privacy breaches, complaints, and violations.
Update and maintain privacy information on websites and social media to ensure that the information is timely and accurate.
Coordinate and schedule privacy education programs. Track privacy education and training of employees, contractors, vendors, and partners. Communicate upcoming privacy training programs scheduled in person and online.
Perform privacy walkthroughs and provide results to appropriate persons.
May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired.
Three (3) years of related experience, or a Master's or higher level degree may be substituted.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience within a health care environment.
Missouri Board of Nursing RN/LPN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN/LPN.
Experience and knowledge of HIPAA/HITECH Privacy and Data Security.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
