System Cybersecurity Engineer
LER is looking for a System Cybersecurity Engineer to join our engineering team in Farmington Hills, MI. This full-time position offers the opportunity to be a part of an industry leader focused on the research and development of electronics, embedded systems, and magnets to develop precision motor control applications. We are seeking exceptionally talented individuals that are highly motivated to use their leadership and technical skills to design and develop cybersecurity requirements based on system analysis. The position requires at least 3 years of experience in product cybersecurity.

What you will be doing:
- Bring strong hardware and software cybersecurity skills
- Bring experience with developing safe and secure automotive solutions.
- Decompose business requirements into engineered solutions
- Add in appropriate non-functional requirements to guarantee proper maintainability, persistence, scalability, security, and performance
- Maintain architectural consistency with other software products and technical design patterns currently in use by the team
- Stay up to date on proper hardware and software development methodologies to keep solutions secure.
- Review and provide effort estimates on accomplishing team tasks
- Decompose team tasks into specific work items to be accomplished in development period
- Assess risk and priority, and balance tasks in a development period to ensure maximum team success
- Develop security requirements and specifications for automotive hardware and software
- Design, develop, prove, and document embedded hardware and software products and solutions
- Review hardware schematics and software architectures of other engineers on the team and advise on changes needed to support proper security strategies
- Provide product definition and high-level design changes to support industry recommended cybersecurity requirements
- Create, refine, and execute test cases specific to meeting cybersecurity
- Respond to security events as they arise from operational programs
What you'll need to be successful:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer engineering discipline (Master’s Degree is preferred)
- CISSP, CISM, or CISA certification or equivalent
- +3 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in electronics/software.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer familiar with cybersecurity principles, concepts, and technologies.
- Experience with hardware component selection and compatibility analysis.
- Proficient understanding of embedded device programming
- Decomposition of business requirements into functional specifications, design documentation, and use cases; creation of support documentation.
- Ability to design solutions to enterprise class persistence, scalability, performance, security and maintainability models
- Familiar with state-of-the-art techniques for the development of embedded systems
- Familiarity with automotive safety and cybersecurity requirements (ASIL, SOTIF, ISO 26262, ISO 21434, etc.)
- Familiarity with In-Vehicle communication bus protocols (CAN, Ethernet, LVDS, A2B, Bluetooth, etc.)
