Our Company culture will make you feel right at home.A Brief OverviewThe Systems Administrator will work with minimal direction as a seasoned resource. Installs, configures, troubleshoots, resolve complex issues, and supports ongoing usability of desktop computers, laptops, SW/HW, and peripheral Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS). This role must have extensive Azure knowledge and experience with integration, system analysis or programming experience, including developing Azure systems requirements and design specification. This role is required to be a leader to help build, grow, and shape the cloud infrastructure at DU through hands-on effort and collaboration across the enterprise, and a results-driven mindset. A passion for performance, strong desire for quality conformance, and attention to detail are prerequisites for this position.

 

Starting Wage: $80,912.00 - $94,396.00/annually DOE

Responsibilities

What you will do

• Proficiency in managing, strategizing, and troubleshooting Windows servers, workstations, MS Azure, and O365 environments.
• Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
• Support IT and OT system design, deployment, and maintenance aligned with information sercurity standards and are adequate to mitigate risk of exposure.
• Install new software releases and system upgrades.
• Evaluate and install software patches.
• Resolve software related problems.
• Maintain data files and monitor system configuration to ensure data inegrity.
• Perform system backups and recovery.
• Develop and maintain database applications, forms, and reports as needed (DBA crossover).
• Providing primary support and maintenance of system virtualization.
• Assist with the maintenance of workstation hardware, operating systems, applications, and perform workstation troubleshooting and upgrades.
• Maintain system user ID's, directory structures, permissions, e-mail, etc.
• Install and maintain the physical/logical network infrastructure.
• Assist the IT Support Technician as necessary.
• Maintain ticketing systems.

Qualifications

Conditions of EmploymentMust pass a pre-employment drug test, random drug test thereafter in accordance with the published policy of Doyon Utilities. Must have a valid driver's license issued by the State of Alaska. Must be eligible to work on a military installation in Alaska. Eligibility to work on a military installation includes compliance with Department of Defense mandates with respect to employee background and health directives.Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology. Preferred.
• 5+ years of Information Technology experience. Required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience architecting or IT System administration in an Azure environment.
• Minimum 5 years experience with Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Security.
• Minimum 3 years experience implementing cloud security and compliance best practices.
• Minimum 3 years experience in monitoring and performance optimization of Azure-based systems.
• Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Administrator, Azure SOlutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer) would be beneficial.
• Supports the overall planning, execution, and reporting of risk assessments. Ensure IT and OT compliance audits to support NIST requirements and other Security Compliance related initiatives.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience supporting end users with varying degrees of technical ability.
• SharePoint experience is preferred.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to think creatively and adapt while working a wide range of complex projects.
• Virtualization/ESX skills
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• The ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Possessing strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and problem solve under pressure.
• Excellent problem solving skills, and the ability to think creatively and adapt while working a wide range of complex projects.
• CompTIA Security+ Certification. Required.
