GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Manage incoming phone calls and distributing as needed for each center additional duties as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Answer incoming phone calls to center in a professional and timely manner
- Transfer phone calls efficiently or take detailed message if necessary.
- Follow HIPAA privacy rules when handling patient information
- Use discretion and professionalism when transferring calls and taking messages.
- Assist with Urgent Findings worklist, communicating with Urgent Finding Team and contacting physicians and offices to confirm receipt of reports as well as connecting the Radiologist to ordering providers when requested.
- Assisting Center Manager as needed with additional duties, these will differ according to center and needs.
The job holder must demonstrate a professional demeanor on all phone calls as they are a direct representation of Radiology Associates.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience of working within a customer service or medical office environment is desirable but not essential. Experience in a medical imaging environment is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Excellent phone skills with ability to multi-task.
- Strong time management skills
- Basic typing
- Experience with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
ABILITIES:
- Ability to solve problems and show initiative.
- Ability to work in a cooperative nature within and outside department with staff, patients and families.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, speaking on the phone and normal associated activities with a normal medical office environment. ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a busy medical office environment. Position will involve frequent contact with staff and the public. Occasional evening and weekend work.
