- Develop and manage the company’s sustainability reporting strategy, targets, roadmap, and annual reporting process, incorporating relevant data from global operations.
- Oversee the selection of the ESG/Impact data base that is financially sound and best suits the company; implement the platform, provide training, and gain support for its use throughout the company.
- Manage the Impact Report consultant (for report preparation) in a collaborative manner with the Communications and Branding Team, including report content and design.
- Lead the company’s Impact (ESG) Committee in an organized fashion, fostering support and participation in the process and utilization of the ESG data base..Keep the HMTX Industries Impact Report relevant by incorporating emerging ESG trends and improvements into the reporting process.
- Manage ongoing materiality assessments.
- Manage and respond to ESG surveys and inquiries (internal and external) in a timely manner.
- Manage and lead ESG data peer review and external audits.
- Help integrate ESG strategy and goals into company practices, programs, and policies in order to enhance company value and promote sustainable growth.
- Maintain ever-evolving understanding of ESG frameworks, regulatory requirements, issues, and best practices, including knowledge of and awareness of FTC Green Guides.
- Provide expert guidiance and ensure compliance with all global ESG and climate reporting requirements, including CSRD, SB253, SB261, and AB1305.
- Support development and implementation of company’s sustainability initiatives, including the carbon-neutral strategy, product circularity, water conservation, etc.; incorporate relevant progress into the Impact Report.
- Foster and develop relationships with external stakeholders (e.g. environmental regulatory agencies), acting as a company representative, such as external speaking engagements and customer meetings, as appropriate.
- Contribute to/update sustainability communications (e.g. websites, presentations, collaterals)
- Advise the team and assist in the verification of carbon emissions related to energy usage, including Scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
- Administer sustainability-based certification and awards programs related to ESG/Impact as needed
- Benchmarking of peers and competitors in ESG
- Assist with and attend sustainability-focused tradeshows.
- Required: 5 + years’ professional experience in advising/managing ESG/Impact Reports, Materiality Analysis, and implementation of sustainability data management, data management systems, and story telling
- Preferred: 7 + years’ professional experience advising/managing ESG Sustainability at a manufacturing company.
- Required: Advanced working knowledge of the UN Sustainabile Development Goals (SDGs), sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. SASB, TCFD), ESG-related trends, and FTC Green Guides.
- Required: Advanced project management, organizational skill attention to detail and a collaborative and professional mindset
- Required: proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Required: Bachelor’s of Science degree in a field related to sustainability/ESG Program Management (such as a physical science, environmental or health science)
- Required: Professional certification(s), continuing education, and volunteer experience demonstrating a desire to contribute to sustainability solutions
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in ESG.Sustainability/Environmental Management/Business/Policy/ or related field.
- Salary: commensurate with experience
- Location: Preferred - Calhoun, GA (on-site); Remote - Considered for Ideal Candidate, but must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to work in a professional office, and/or industrial/warehouse setting as needed, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, or walking with frequency.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM EST., additional hours (including evenings and weekends) may be required based on business needs.
- Schedule type: Hybrid (3 days/week in office; 2 days/week telecommuting)
