We are looking for a detail-oriented Sushi Cook to oversee our sushi and poke cuisines at our restaurant.The Sushi Cook is a self-starter & team player who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment.
Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing sides, sushi, and poke items for our guests in accordance with portioning, recipe and presentation guidelines
• Create and prepare various types of sushi including maki, nigiri, and sashimi with both cooked and raw ingredients
• Plate, decorate and package dishes for delivery to the customer
• Follow recipes and team processes to ensure they are meeting time and quality standards
• Ensure food safety standards are always maintained, including proper storage of all kitchen items, use of PPE, and the maintaining of proper pH of rice, among others
• Ensure correct temperatures are always met and maintained
• Ensures all food is labeled and stored properly as per Food Safety and HACCP guidelines
• Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs
• Scans in and out items for inventory control accuracy
• Works in a fast-paced environment to produce agreed-upon recipes

• Salary: $22.00/hr

The experience you have

• 2+ years of experience as a Sushi Cook or related sushi experience
• Talented in the art of sushi making, able to make changes quickly and think fast
• Food Safety and HACCP guideline knowledge including proper protein food safety temperatures and "danger zone" food temperatures
• Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
• Ability to work as a team member
• Following detailed directions and instructions
