We are excited to announce our busy office is growing and we are in need of a motivated Oral Surgery Assistant to join our team at our Galesburg location.
Oral Surgery Practice: Associated Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons
Location: 929 W. Carl Sandburg Dr. Galesburg, IL
Position: Full-time
Hours: Monday through Thursday 7:15am to 4:30pm and Fridays 6:45am to 3:30pm. With occasional unpaid days off when the Doctor is out of the office.
Candidate will also be required to travel on occasion to our Peoria location.

Job Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Preparing patient for treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.
- Providing information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.
- Providing instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area; positioning instruments for surgeon's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
- Helping surgeon manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
- Maintaining patient airway while patient is under sedation.
- Educating patients by giving oral hygiene and postoperative instructions.
- Documenting dental care services by charting in patient electronic health records.
- Maintaining patient confidence and protecting operations by keeping information confidential.
- Decontaminating and sterilizing instruments, medical supplies, and equipment.
- Taking panoramic x-rays and CT scans
- Maintaining a clean, sterile work environment.
