The Magna Surgical Center, one of the Midwest’s leading outpatient surgical centers, seeks a Customer Service Assistant with strong communication skills interested in working in healthcare as a primary liaison to patients and other customers. Motivated service-oriented candidates with experience in healthcare, hospitality, retail, and other customer-facing roles will be strongly considered.

Job Requirements:
- Welcoming patients and other customers and acting as a resource to enhance their experience at the Center whether in person or on the phone.
- Assists in admitting patients in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner according to policy and procedure.
- Administrative duties such as working with patient charts, assisting with scheduling of patients, collecting payments, and answering incoming phone calls
- Gathers and updates accurately financial, insurance, and personal demographic information.
- Collects self-pay portions and deductibles of bills, and records in manner.
- Liaison with other departments and physicians to communicate patient updates and status.
- Work closely with the clinical department to ensure patient charts are created and completed in a timely manner.
- Schedules surgical procedures independently and with the collaboration of the Assistant Administrator and Medical Director.
- Updates and maintains medical records and filing.
- Assist with completing the tasks described to be completed during patient intake as per “intake procedure". These include specimen testing, minimal phlebotomy, obtaining vital signs and updating patient medical information.
- Assisting the RN with admission and discharge of patients as needed
- Transporting patients to their cars
- Turnover of patient rooms
- Inventory and restock medical office supplies
- Bilingual (Spanish Preferred)
Experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent and 1-2 years of related experience.
- Medical Assist Certification (required)
- Current CPR Certificate.

Pay: $18.36 - $24.48 per hour
