Do you want to make a difference in the lives of other people? Do you wish you were spending your time making others' lives better instead of making money for other people? OPTIONS Family of Services, a local non-profit organization, strives to help people with intellectual disabilities meet their wants and desires as citizens within their community. We serve 200 people from Paso Robles to Santa Maria. Daily, we improve the lives of those we serve.
We are currently looking for part time staff to work one on one with adults with intellectual disabilities who live in SLO. Hours available are overnights. Prior experience is desired but not required. We are also looking for full time staff at our transitional living program in Morro Bay. This is an exciting program providing a bridge for our residents moving from living in a group home environment to living independently in the community. At this level, staff are on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (in rotating shifts) but the individuals pay rent, utilities and buy and make their own food with support from staff.
The adults we work with need help learning to cook, clean and do laundry, as well as help working on their social interaction and behavioral goals. Staff also provide support with other personal needs such as passing medication, budgeting, meal planning and preparation and hygiene needs.
The regular starting rate for this position is $20.50 per hour, but the sleeping overnights are paid at minimum wage (currently $16 per hour). Upon successful completion of Direct Support Professional year 1 and year 2, staff will earn $21 per hour.
