Starting Salary:
$21.98 hourly, non-exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS – 75-85%
- Work collaboratively with fellow DRD Support Specialist to execute shared responsibilities.
- Assist evaluators in sending communications to litigants, scheduling evaluation appointments, completing and sending record requests, monitoring completion of record requests, maintaining calendars, schedule hearings for the evaluator, as needed.
- Act as the liaison for the department with the judges, magistrates, and attorneys in regard to referrals and procedures. Answers inquiries of litigants and of attorneys in person and by telephone for the Dispute Resolution Department. Checks in family members for appointments and assists the public with questions.
- Review subpoenas and update subpoena logs for social workers and counselors.
- Coordinate with court staff to ensure foreign language interpreters are scheduled and ensure completion of appropriate documents for billing.
- Assist the director in scheduling supervised parenting time at the Family Visitation Center. Create monthly report in Excel format for the Family Visitation Center. Monitors the online parenting class attendance and modifies case attendance notification in CMS.
- Prepare monthly statistics of the class for the Court. Monitors the collection of fees for all services in the department. Initiates cases when a referral is received for mediation, intake, or evaluation. Issues mediation appointment letters to litigants.
- Process the registration from walk-in parties or online for the “Parenting Through Transitions” class. Prepares booklets, certificates, and evaluation materials for the “Parenting Through Transitions” class.
- Process immediate drug screens from the judicial officers. Phone calls to attorneys and/or litigants, as necessary.

Assist in the review of Guardians Ad Litem, mediator, and parenting coordinator applications and compliance statements. Scan documents and reports into CMS to create a paperless record of collateral documents. Prepare case folders for the Director. Process refunds of fees, when services are terminated. Attend training as directed. Assign Guardians Ad Litem and maintains the current list of appointments for the Court.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – 10-15%
Accept other assignments from the Director of Dispute Resolution as requested.

Knowledge of: Applicable procedures and practices of the Court of Domestic Relations; including familiarity with the Court’s personnel policies, proper courtroom etiquette, and basic computer and office equipment skills.
Ability to: Communicate with attorneys, the general public, employees, and Court officials in an effective and courteous manner; work under pressure and maintain composure in dealing with potentially angry and hostile litigants; accept constructive criticism and direction; must be professional at all times and work cooperatively with all other departments within the Court and persons from other courts, agencies, and providers; maintain regular attendance, proper dress, and a positive attitude; treat litigants and counsel with respect and dignity. Must be detail-oriented.
Skill in: Communicating with staff and others, both orally and in written form, operating basic office machines, operations of Windows based computer system, and courteous telephone etiquette. Completing tasks timely and free from excessive and or recurring mistakes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of skills, knowledge, and abilities listed above. An example of an acceptable qualification for this position is:
Must possess a high school diploma from an accredited school with demonstrated ability in workflow management and the ability to work with little direct supervision. Fluency of word processing and data collection in Microsoft Word and Excel. High level of discretion is required. Previous work experience in a court setting is desired. College degree or completion of college coursework in related fields desired.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work may involve significant amount of standing, walking, sitting, talking, listening, stooping, crouching and reaching with hands and arms. Ability to transfer up to 25 pounds. Ability to sit continuously at a computer terminal for periods up to three hours. Ability to reach into file drawers in standard four-drawer file cabinets. Visual ability sufficient to effectively operate a copier, facsimile machine, and computer terminal, and to read reports, correspondence, and instructions. Hearing ability sufficient to converse with other individuals, both in person and by telephone. Speaking ability sufficient to communicate effectively with other individuals in person and by telephone.
