Summary:

Goldbelt, Inc. is in search of a Support Services Technician. The Support Service Technician is responsible for receiving, recording, and distributing work orders based on customers' requests for calibration service. This position applies basic knowledge of the calibration processes and uses various tools to compile reports of production.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure PMEL MIS customer data entries are complete and accurate.
  • Provide the customer with a TMDE hand receipt with a PMEL MIS generated job control number (JCN) for each item of TMDE delivered to the contractor-operated site.
  • Provide a hand receipt the day the TMDE is delivered. Return TMDE to customers who present a valid TMDE hand receipt. Schedule TMDE IAW customer requested priority approved by PMEL supervision and condition received. Ensure customers include required documentation and accessories/parts listed as requirements in the PMEL MIS.
  • Prepare and send Master ID Listings and TMDE Schedules per required intervals.
  • Maintain a current listing of TMDE coordinators in the PMEL MIS.
  • The list shall include Owning Work Center (OWC) number, name, and grade of primary and alternate TMDE coordinators, training date, address, email address, and telephone number(s).
  • Contact customers who fail to deliver TMDE to the contractor-operated site on the scheduled input date. Contact shall be IAW PWS requirements.
  • Provide and document TMDE Coordinator Training.
  • Provide the appropriate level of PAMs training based on the level of PAMs access provided to the customer.
  • Monitor and control movement of material and parts to appropriate lab locations.
  • Research, order, and track parts orders. Maintain log of all parts requisitions in PMEL MIS.
  • Maintain PMEL parts inventory.
  • Contact customers to ensure satisfactory performance of services.
  • Transport equipment/materials from one department to another using hand trucks/carts.
  • Establish and maintain re-useable container area IAW AF Instructions.
  • Conduct a pre-shipment or post-shipment inspection as appropriate for equipment shipped off-site to another facility for calibration or maintenance.
  • Prepare and track all shipment processing and movement IAW PWS and AF instructions.
  • Deliver outgoing shipments to the TMO or the designated pick up point.
  • Pick up and deliver test equipment to on base customer work centers Coordinate all packing, crating, and cargo shipping requirements with TMO/DLA. Upon receipt of equipment through TMO, unpack the shipment, conduct an inventory of the contents, and inspect for shipping damage. Maintain a transportation control log in the PMEL MIS identifying all equipment transferred to another organization.
  • Maintain current and accurate transportation documents for all equipment shipped to, or received from, another organization.
  • Perform and document shipping follow-ups with the delivery destination IAW PWS.
  • Initiate tracer actions when follow-ups indicate shipments have not been received.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis as needed.
  • Participate in Internal Audits as required.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Requires extensive knowledge in either the Physical-Dimensional or Electronics section of the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) and basic knowledge in other lab sections.
  • Applicants must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze block, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical publications.
  • Must have excellent time management skills.
  • Outstanding mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Able to work on a team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year relevant experience.
  • Must have a valid and current driver’s license.
  • All applicants must pass a drug test.
  • All applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be a U.S citizen able to acquire and retain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous PMEL contract experience.
  • Previous PAMS or FEMS Scheduling/Supply Transportation experience.
