Sherpa 6 has an exciting opportunity for Systems Support EngineerSite Leads (SL) in support of USSOCOM Program Executive Office SOF Digital Applications (SDA). The Support Engineer may provide onsite support to SOCOM units in the Operations, Intelligence or Tactical domains. Global Support will extend from Tampa, MacDill AFB. The SL's will each be assigned to a Regional Support Center (RSC) that will extend from four locations: East Regional (Fort Liberty, NC), West Regional (Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA), Europe Regional (Stuttgart, Germany) and Pacific Regional (Camp Smith, Hawaii). This is NOT a stand-alone requirement, but instead an added assignment to an existing position. The responsibilities of the SL are in addition to the requirements for the functional positions proposed. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Support PEO SDA, USSOCOM Components, the Theater Special Operation Commands (TSOCs) and others as mission dictates by providing personnel management and oversight of the field Support Engineers (SE) assigned to your Regional Support Center (RSC).
- Manage Direct Support to specific units at other locations within assigned Region either temporarily or permanently, as mission requires.
- Ability to develop processes and techniques which enhance the mission planning environment and reduces the workload for other mission planning support Contractors.
- Detailed working knowledge of processes and procedures for using automated tools to plan, support, and execute Special Operations roles for mission planning.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience managing on-site, off-site and remote employees.
- In-depth knowledge of the Unified Command structure, joint doctrine, and joint policies.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in technical support position and Operational or Intelligence Community (IC) operations, platforms, functions, and terminology experience.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in implementing and training software systems/updates, standard operating procedures and technical documentation.
- Ability to communicate issues and solutions to various stakeholders.
- Excellent writing communication and reporting skills.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Experience:
- Ability to build trust and confidence with customers, engineers, technicians, program management, and product line management to achieve program and USSOCOM objectives.
- Ability to independently lead and support technical meetings with customers, teammates, program management and leadership.
- Ability to grasp complex issues, independently formulate analysis and proposed solutions, lead people, manage complex activities, manage risks and opportunities, brief issues and represent the company well to the customer.
- Experience utilizing the Joint Planning Process (JPP) and Joint Intelligence Preparation of Operational Environment (JIPOE).
