Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Support Desk Specialist to join our IT team. Under the direction of the Support Manager, the Support Desk Specialist will be responsible for providing technical assistance and supporting Kingstone’s computer systems, hardware, and software.
This is a hybrid position and will require work onsite in our New York office as the business needs.
What you will do:
- Triage IT Support tickets: troubleshooting, gathering issue details for escalation, support related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
- Account Management/Access Control (Active Directory user creation, Exchange mailbox assignment, business applications, etc.).
- End user support - Microsoft Operating Systems and Product support; department and business application support (accounting, HR, etc.) with occasional user training.
- Perform updates to business applications.
- Alert and Log review. Escalate to appropriate team.
- Assist in moving operation projects forward by working with the team using agile frameworks.
- Hardware Support (phones, computers, monitors) when necessary; Printer support and installation.
- Creation and maintenance of troubleshooting procedures; writing documentation, Knowledge base articles, and manuals.
What you will bring:
- A college degree, technical education, or equivalent work experience.
- 2-5 years of experience working within an IT support role.
- ITIL4 Foundations certified (preferred).
- Industry certifications a plus (Microsoft, CompTIA, etc.).
- Experience with Intune (preferred).
- Experience with cloud computing and virtual desktop (preferred).
- Experience working with ticketing systems and queues (Jira preferred).
- Technical troubleshooting skills; diagnosing programs, isolating problems, and determining and implementing solutions.
- Understanding of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft office products.
- Willingness to learn; must ensure skills are current with industry trends to meet company needs.
- Customer service skills to troubleshoot remote users over the phone; excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to create and update documentation, diagrams, and charts.
- Ability to lift and move PCs, printers, and other peripherals.
- Ability to occasionally travel to remote sites and off-hours availability for system maintenance and support.
