We are seeking a Help Desk/IT Support Specialist that will provide prompt responses to internal customer questions regarding IT issues. They will troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems related to operating systems, hardware and software, in support of the business.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree, computer-related preferred, but not required.
- 3 years' experience in a similar role
- Desktop and laptop support
- Windows Server support
- General networking (firewalls, routers, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP)
- General physical network knowledge (cabling, switches, terminating cables)
- General PC hardware/software troubleshooting
- Email / MS Exchange Server
- Help administer the domain - including active directory, DNS, and DHCP
- Anti-virus/malware solutions
- VPN
- Data backup solutions
- Smartphones (iPhone, Android, etc.)
- MS Office
- CRM, ERP
- Printing / Plotting support
- Virtualization technology (Hyper-V)
- Strong customer facing presence; solid support skills; great follow-up
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, leveraging a mix of knowledge, research, and collaboration to track down problems; good technical documentation skills.
- Must possess initiative and strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills; strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
- Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
- Ask questions to determine nature of problem.
- Walk customer through the problem-solving process.
- Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
- Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
- Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
- Install computer peripherals for users.
- Liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors.
- Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.
- Gain feedback from customers about computer usage.
- Support IT Manager in other IT-related tasks as needed.
