Supply Log Manager

Provides tactical direction and leadership to staff to ensure customer requirements are met while meeting UF Health Shands Hospital and Supply Chain Services goals and objectives. Maintains a professional approach while supporting customer needs, enabling achievement of all Supply Chain Logistics responsibilities.
Has responsibility and accountability for improving the quality and efficiency of supply inventory, orders, receipts, distribution and replenishment to achieve customer satisfaction. Ensures and coordinates staff training and compliance with departmental, regulatory and system requirements. Supervises and audits OR supply chain and inventory control activities. Maintains adequate critical inventory levels in supply chain and procedural department par level locations. Generates reports to evaluate existing inventory practices, resolves problems and offer new opportunities to supply chain leadership. Communicates with supply chain leadership, nursing and all other clinical units related to providing patient care to ensure operational standards are maintained. Maintains The Joint Commission (TJC) standards in all supply chain and procedural department par level locations managed by supply chain. Ensures the functionality of the point of use system is supported and par levels updated as necessary. Maintains a competent level of support staff and provides adequate training. Sets and monitors quality standards necessary for QA reporting. Responsible for implementation and daily maintenance of Supply Logistics, including evaluation of storage space, receipt of goods and equipment, warehousing and inventory management in a variety of hospital settings.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Five years of related logistics and supply chain experience required.
• Hospital logistics and supply chain experience preferred.
• Experience in perioperative services, cath lab, endoscopy or similar procedural areas required.
• At least seven years of managerial or supervisory experience required.
• Must have project management skills and experience with process improvement techniques.
• Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Degree may be substituted with ten years of proven success as a supervisor or manager in a health care setting.
• Must have knowledge of inventory management and point of use inventory systems.
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, required.
• Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills required.

• Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a "non-frequent driver."
