HOW A TRAINING SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Develops; organizes; and conducts Undersea Vehicles (UUV) / Undersea Warfare training and educational programs for personnel assigned to US Navy Ships. Must be capable of conducting conventional knowledge-based classroom teaching and performance/scenario-based laboratory training. The candidate would serve as a Senior Instructor to train sailors in tactical employment of the Undersea Vehicles (UUV) / Undersea Warfare systems; system capabilities and limitations; employment of automated systems; mission planning and execution; and tactical communications.
When required, the candidate would provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development. - Must be prepared to support the Surface Force Training Manuel and certification process utilizing shore-based labs and in water unmanned systems requiring dynamic assessment of watch standers during events. - Navy Undersea and Combat Systems Fleet experience with Navy systems such as Knifefish UUV, Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), or Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs).
-Experience with Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) or Undersea Warfare (USW) missions, processes, procedures and related technologies. -Supports Formal Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates; conducts training gap analysis and provides formal feedback / recommendations for Course improvement. -Develops; tests; maintains; and delivers moderately complex Navy Undersea Vehicles (UUV)/ Undersea Warfare training programs and related materials in support of SCSTC training objectives.
- Establishes and reviews course content and objectives. - Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities. -Maintains records of training activities; participant progress; and program effectiveness.
-Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. - Primary instruction as an unmanned undersea vehicle instructor and post mission analyst. - Candidate may be required to support a second shift work schedule as mission requirements dictate.
-Active Secret Security Clearance. - Security Clearance Level: Secret Clearance Required-Location: On Customer Site SCSTC San Diego-US Citizenship Required WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED -Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work/military experience. - Seven (7) years of experience with the required system as either a maintenance technician supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment.
Of the seven years, one (1) year of experience as an Instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include presentation skills, public speaking, curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems. Experience as a trainer/instructor and/or a Master/Afloat Training Specialist in support of SCSTC/TACTRAGRU/ATG is a significant plus. Must be able to support training with extended periods on your feet while instructing.
