Job Description SummaryJoin our dynamic team at GE Vernova - Onshore Wind Business (ONW) and take a leading role in shaping our supplier sustainability engagement strategy, particularly with a focus on Environmental Sustainability and Sustainable Procurement.
As the Supply Chain Sustainability Manager, you'll hold a pivotal position in our commitment to achieving GE Vernova's climate targets while aligning the ONW business with these goals.
In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to lead the implementation of ONW's Sourcing Sustainability roadmap, driving Scope 3 upstream decarbonization across our Supply Chain within cross-functional programs. You'll lead initiatives focused on elevating suppliers' performance, particularly supporting lower-scoring suppliers in implementing corrective measures.
Moreover, you'll be supporting the increasing demand from customers and stakeholders for detailed information on the life cycle emissions of procured products and services. Your responsibility extends to engaging with suppliers, gathering crucial data on product-related emissions, and playing a vital role in building a comprehensive picture of the environmental impact throughout the value chain.

About us
GE's Onshore Wind business has a total installed base of more than 50,000 wind turbines in more than 35 counties, with 100+ GW of global installed capacity. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of supplier sustainability engagement strategies, focusing on Environmental Sustainability and Sustainable Procurement (ES&SP).
  • Drive assessment and baseline of ONW suppliers' ES&SP performance with an external partner to ensure transparency and understanding of Scope 3 upstream emissions.
  • Actively engage and support suppliers with lower ES&SP scores to improve their performance, address Scope 3 upstream emissions, and implement cost-effective decarbonization and waste reduction practices that contribute to 'Green&Lean' initiatives.
  • Work closely with suppliers to collect crucial data on product-related emissions, and explore opportunities for circular economy practices.
  • Establish robust supplier performance management systems aligned with industry standards.
  • Drive the development and delivering on internal sourcing sustainability KPIs and supplier sustainability KPIs, while maintaining a robust monthly reporting standard in collaboration with senior sourcing leadership.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, integrating ES&SP topics into global category strategies.
  • Coordinate the deployment of category and sub-category sourcing strategies for associated supplier decarbonization programs in close collaboration with the Global Commodity Leaders and other key internal stakeholders.
  • Play a key role in fostering synergies and operational efficiency across GE Vernova Wind's Supply Chain Sustainability initiatives by promoting collaboration, sharing knowledge, and exchanging best practices.
  • Enhance both external and internal ES&SP expertise through tailored supplier training, internal stakeholder engagement, and educational initiatives.
  • Participate in a global network of GE Vernova ESG & Sustainability professionals to align strategies and share best practices.
  • Monitor and communicate external ES&SP Supply Chain requirements, including industry standards, customer expectations, industry peers' practices relevant to the GE Vernova ONW Wind business.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science) plus 5 years' experience in Supply Chain or sourcing roles, with a focus on environmental sustainability, and a strong understanding of sustainable sourcing and circular economy concepts. OR
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science) plus 3 years' experience in Supply Chain or sourcing roles, with a focus on environmental sustainability, and a strong understanding of sustainable sourcing and circular economy concepts.

Desired Characteristics

  • Proficiency in project management, Lean principles, and communication in complex business environments.
  • Deep knowledge of ESG principles, sustainability frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a result-oriented approach.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels including internal stakeholders, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Knowledge of wind industry sustainability best practices and emerging trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational structures and drive change across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Understanding of the energy transition, renewable energy, and sustainable development.

The salary range for this position is $87,300.00 - $145,500.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for variable incentive compensation (10%) Available Health and Welfare benefits include, Prescription drug, dental and vision coverage; saving account options (such as a Health Care Flexible Savings Account, Health Reimbursement Account, Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account, and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account); and an employee assistance program.
