Tesla is seeking a results-driven Supply Chain Planner to join our team. The Supply Chain Planner leads the site in the execution of site material flow, Supply and Demand planning 3PL leadership, inventory optimization, and utility support to the site. The role requires strong planning and analytical skills to effectively coordinate logistics activities, monitor inventory levels, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. This opportunity will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Supply Chain operations at the Tesla Lithium Refinery.
- Create and implement logistics plans and models that will maximize the availability of finished goods, the flow of raw materials into the site, and WIP tracking
- Analyze models and estimates to effectively schedule transportation, storage, and logistics requirements to establish 3PL requirements
- Coordinate Supply Chain activities with production schedules and company objectives by collaborating with business leadership, production staff, and suppliers
- Develop a supply and materials flow value stream model to assess the availability of raw materials, WIP and finished goods
- Coordinate demand forecast with supply plan, optimize costs, mitigate risks and communicate at Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)
- Provide data analysis to identify trends, patterns and anomalies to improve forecasts and decision making
- Adapt production plan based on unexpected events
- Establish 3PL requirements by modeling material movement in collaboration with Tesla Logistics team and site leadership
- Maintain and enhance 3PL capacity and reliability by making certain there is sufficient inventory for current and future operations
- Create and oversee a material flow dashboard to enable quick evaluation and communication among team members across the company
- Supply / Demand Planning, Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to ensure adequate stock and timely replenishment
- Employ inventory control procedures to avert stockouts and surplus inventory while maintaining a cost-efficient and lean Supply Chain
- Create and implement a utility dashboard and cost model for the site
- Provide utility providers forecasts and build relationships in order to assure seamless support
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering or equivalent in related work experience
- Minimum of 5 years proven experience in Supply Chain logistics planning, preferably within the chemical industry or a related manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of planning, modeling, logistics planning, and inventory management
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data visual to drive smart decisions
- Effective communication and leadership skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines
- Familiarity with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, process modeling and other relevant logistics software is desirable
