Job Description

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting with the prioritization of the workflow throughout the distribution center, known as wave planning, in order to meet business needs. The Supply Chain Operations Analyst will also aid in order prioritization, coordinating orders with customer service, operations, and transportation, tracking the progress of waves, releasing work to the floor, and maintaining and open line of communication with the operations management team as well as assist in making and clearly communicating key business decisions. Must closely monitor, through the warehouse management system, wave status to prevent bottlenecks.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, analyze, modify and execute the Wave Plan to predetermine ship schedules are met for all customers while maintaining a level workload of activity across all shifts
  • Build and maintains Piqua warehouse capacity model to feed scheduling for changes in demand that impact the warehouse resources and capital.
  • Collaborates with Operations, Sourcing, Procurement and Customer Care to ensure parts are flowing in and out of Piqua at optimum levels.
  • Develop and maintain inventory bleed off models to effectively ensure the end of life of products.
  • Develop and analyze the most cost-effective shipping modes and schedules for inbound and outbound parts for Piqua and our Field Partners.
  • Collaborate with IT professionals to implement effective systems
  • Track KPIs and report on Supply Chain performance
  • Inventory and Operations Management of Remote Piqua Warehouses
  • Completes the waves in warehouse management system to include fixing transfer order shortages
  • Completing and sending out hourly report and final report
  • Prioritize daily schedule and create reports as needed to monitor, track and measure performance at all levels
  • Work closely with Transportation and Customer Service teams to evaluate truck loads, fill expedite request, and/or change routing
  • Works closely with inventory teams to ensure inventory integrity when replacement product is needed to fill order
  • Translate projected order forecasts, incoming volume, and work scopes into outbound production plan with a time-phased output driven by customer required date
  • Work effectively with both ERP and WMS systems to ensure effective order prioritization
  • Calculate order processing lead times based on staffing levels, order mix, VAS requirements, and order required dates
  • Measure and monitor order capacity
  • Resolve rejected orders created through the waving process in a timely manner to ensure orders do not age as a result of the rejection
  • Calculate and track order fill and line fill rates at the Piqua warehouse by wave.
  • Be able to reprioritize workflow based on stocking levels and ABC analysis.
  • Waving territory and international shipments and assisting with customs documentation and label creation and use of multiple systems (WMS, NAV/ERP, Agile).
  • Keeps work area in order and readily participates in housekeeping duties
  • Supports and maintains a safe workplace, including observing all safety rules
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education and Work Experience:

  • Associates Degree
  • 4 years of related work experience
  • Proficiency in computer databases, statistic applications and logistics programs, MRP
  • Experience in the warehousing or logistics industry preferred
  • Experience in data mining, analysis and reporting
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, relational databases and ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain processes (e.g. inventory planning, warehouse management)
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

Desired Education/Experience:

  • Previous wave planning/expediting experience preferred
  • BA/BS in Data Science, Supply Chain or Logistics preferred
  • SQL, R programming, and Python experience preferred
