Purpose/Summary
This role involves overseeing quality procedures for in-process and finished goods, including sampling, monitoring, and approval to ensure product quality.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Investigate customer complaints regarding product quality, non-conforming materials, and help determine corrective actions.
- Drafts and executes stability testing protocols for new and existing products.
- Provides summaries and conducts reporting for parts and equipment.
- Train laboratory and quality personnel to understand equipment and methodologies and ensure they follow protocols appropriately.
- Develops and updates methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as preparation of records, progress reports, etc., to inform management of current status.
- Ensure the testing methods used are current.
- Reviews/approves protocols and writes technical reports/procedures.
- Provides a summary upon completion of all projects.
- Document protocols and maintain manufacturing, laboratory, and customer files regarding protocol testing.
- Supports daily QA/QC activities to meet company needs.
- Maintain records and samples in an organized manner to allow ease of retrieval.
- Oversees the completion of product baseline information for projects assigned including lab testing results, qualification test plans, manufacturing or distribution reviews, production design specifications, and adherence to product development timelines.
- Lead the structured problem-solving process for the resolution of quality concerns including customer complaints, supplier issues, and internal non-conformances/anomalies.
- Lead root cause analysis and data acquisition/analysis to prevent and eliminate defects.
Education and/or Experience (minimum required for the position)
- Five years of experience in Quality preferably in the Automotive industry.
- 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing environment in engineering quality inspection
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered instead of a degree.
- ASQC, CQE/CQT preferred or equivalent inspection/quality principles knowledge
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Excellent PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Minitab (or equivalent) capability required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Lean principles, Six Sigma problem solving, and continuous improvement preferred.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A valid driver's license is required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS Some travel to suppliers, various plants, and Akebono R&D center.
